INITIAL RESULTS FROM 1st ACCELLERETOR CALLS standard

FI-IMPACT has reported some interesting results from the first round of calls, organized by the 16 accelerators and updated to January 2015/ Project numbers: 5784 proposals were started across 14 accelerators and 2431 projects were finally submitted to 10 accelerators. 7 accelerators have already selected 246 projects to fund feasibility or demonstration projects. Geographic location: considering 2431 submitted proposals, just over 50% of the projects originated from five European countries: Spain in top position with a 23.6% share of the proposals, followed by Germany with 10.7%, Italy with 9.3%, Finland with 4.5% and Lithuania also with a 4.5% share. Lessons learned from SOUL-FI Accelerator Open Call results standard

SOUL -FI is a FI-WARE accelerator project funded by the European Commission within the Future Internet PPP programme which aims to grow innovative web-based solutions for smart cities. Of the 341 funding applications that were started by the first cut-off date on 31 October 2014 under the project’s Open Call, some 57% of them originated from southern Europe, with Spain, Portugal and Italy leading the league table. 55% of the applications received were from SMEs and 24% of them from web entrepreneurs. Some 42% of the applicants claimed that they found out about SOUL-FI from electronic/social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, e-newsletter, websites), while by far the most effective single marketing channel was through SOUL-FI events (18%). At last, after so much work, the FIWARE Accelerator Programme is now being presented at the European Conference for the Future Internet (ECFI) in Munich!Some 400 people are attending this meeting point where developers, entrepreneurs and accelerators can experience this technology first hand. Within the framework of the FIWARE Accelerator Programme, the European Commission destines 80 million euros to fostering innovation and businesses on the Internet of the Future.
