InformAmuse

The vast territory of Madonie, in Northern Sicily, is famous for its natural beauty and the charm of its medieval towns steeped in history and tradition and its immense and precious cultural heritage, preserved in churches, buildings and in its streets. However, is not adequately accessible by visitors and only a small percentage of this heritage is accompanied by informative materials to support the visit and the comprehension of history, artwork and techniques. Due to its situation and historical evolution, it is impossible for all the works of art to be equally accessible and displayed in a single place: this comprehensive museum cannot exist in the concrete reality of physical places.
M’AMa is the Museum of Arts in the Madonie area and is a project that brings together its immense cultural heritage, considered a true pearl of Northern Sicily. The project seeks to present it virtually through images, exhibitions and models. A museum that cannot exist in the concrete reality of physical places, that aims to be immaterial and virtual, that makes it possible for all the works of art to be equally accessible and displayed, that presents itself as a storyboard full of connections and similarities and intelligence work.
The project will have two main parts: the web site acting as the virtual location of the museum with its permanent collection, the temporary exhibits, a meeting room, a tourist office with the route generator, a bookshop and a “bar” as a place to meet other users through social networks and the app for smartphones and tablets acting as a pocket museum and as a guide of the area. One of the principles of M’AMa’s organization is the local dimension of the museum, which is not related to a particular artist or to a specific site but is the point of convergence of a whole area.

The Team

Dario Pirrone (Chief Technical Officer): He holds a Ph.D. in computer science. Dario is a cofounder of InformAmuse and is currently engaged in the company’s projects. He is a software engineer with experience in mobile, desktop and web development.
Giuseppe Russo (Knowledge Engineer): He holds a Ph.D. in computer science. Giuseppe is a cofounder of InformAmuse and is currently engaged in the company’s co-funded projects. Giuseppe is the knowledge engineer with experience in mobile and web development.

Angela Sottile (Content Manager): She holds a degree in Cultural Heritage Restoration. Angela is the Vice President of the Museo Civico di Castelbuono. She has a thorough knowledge of the conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage and Art History.

Eleonora Trumello (Project Manager): She is a software engineering. Eleonora is a cofounder of InformAmuse and is currently engaged in the company’s co-funded projects.
